Contest Time!

We've opened an Etsy shop for Chris to sell Lunchnotes, sketchbooks, prints and sketches and I thought it would be fun to celebrate with a contest! So we're having a contest here and a contest on Chris's blog. One lucky Lunchnotes reader will receive the following:

1) All three volumes of Lunchnotes
2) One dozen homemade cookies (chocolate chip or oatmeal raisin - your choice)***
AND
3) A lunchnotes style sketch starring YOU that will be posted here on Lunchnotes

All you need to do to enter is leave a comment on this post and share some good news! Did you ace a test? Is a loved one returning home? Did you find a penny in the parking lot? Share your good news, big or small!

Contest runs until Friday, October 23rd at 11:59 p.m. (central). One entry per person for this contest (you may also enter Chris's contest!). Winner will be chosen by random number generator and will be announced Monday, October 26th! Good luck!

P.S. We're offering free shipping on orders placed in Chris's shop through 1:00 pm central this Sunday, October 18th. Please enter "free shipping" in the notes to seller when you check out and I'll refund your shipping through Paypal. So order something, damnit! :)

***If you think it's weird for some random lady on the internet to send you homemade cookies, just say so and I'll be happy to send you a box of my favorite store bought cookies instead.***

My great news is that I will be moving back to my home state, where they actually have four seasons. (climate based, not the hotel)

Let's see now...good news...I was walking my two dogs this morning when one yanked her leash out of my grasp. She took off running and decided to go on a tour of the neighborhood. I chased after with my other dog. Though she took on a trek through neighbors' properties and thick woods, we all got plenty of exercise and no harm was done. I did catch up to her and brought her back home safe. Whew!

One Time a Jehovah's witness came to my door and asked me if I had heard the good news, but I said no and shut the door. Id say that was pretty awesome!? no?! Did I win yet?
Can I still get some cookies?

I have some great news. Two of my comic projects are finally getting published. I can't discuss either yet but they are on their way to publication at the beginning of next year. Things are looking up.

Also, I have a friend who has been fighting cancer since she was 13 years old and for her birthday recently she got the best news: no signs of cancer. She is cancer-free for the first time in a very long time and we are all so blessed to have her in our lives.

Thanks to Chris and Laura and all of their fans!

My good news is that I took the day off to spend with my sons (6 1/2 & 15 months) and when we went to the library, the workers treated my older son like a rock star ( my retired father-in-law takes care of the boys & they visit the library every week). I was a proud dad. Then I took a whiff of the 15-month-old and knew we had to leave quickly.

What fun!

I gave my nephew his first original comic sketch, of Robin from Teen Titans, and it was a big hit! I have bought him the comics, we watched the cartoon and play the video game together. I was just glad he liked the art as much as I liked giving it to him!

And I would love to know ANYTIME you have homemade cookies!

I've been having a really great week at work, I think that it proves that I made some right decisions in the past few months and that I deserve some praise for doing a good job (hopefully I'll hear it at my meeting on Monday). But for me that's damn good news.

Hi Laura -

This is a cool idea for you to offer! Thanks! As for my good news, I would have to say that it would be my son coming home from his SAT test yesterday, and stating, "that was easier than I thought - I think I aced it!" Obviously, that is the good news that a parent wants to hear in that situation. Have a great day.

David A Price said...

Awww, man, the winner gets Lunchnotes AND homemade cookies?!?! And their own 'toon?

Dang...

Ah, well... Let's see what I have for good news. I broke into our shed so I could cut the grass. I was pretty happy about that. But it was raining.

Oh! Had a wonderful time the other night at a restaurant by our house where we met some friends for dinner. We don't see them enough and the place was great all around - food, service, the whole nine yards.

And it looks like we're going to stick it back to the bank that's been sticking it to us for the past few years screwing around with our mortgage.

So, yeah... there's been some good in recent weeks amidst all the bad.

Good news #1 - I took my 2 year old grandson with me while running errands today. He was fantastic the whole time and charmed everyone.

Good news #2 - picked up 5 year old granddaughter from kindergarten and she had a nice note from the teacher that she had remembered most of the week not to talk during class. She is a social butterfly.

Good new #3 - My wonderful husband had supper ready and is right now getting a stew ready to cook tomorrow.

PS I love Oatmeal Raisin!!
